Inspired by artist Mark Rothko, this collection celebrates subtlety of color through abstracted photographs of the seaside. All pieces in the series are photographed vertically with "portrait" orientation. This achieves the effect of emphasizing the bands of color as well as distancing the image from the traditional, landscape, postcard-style image of a beach. With this series I hope to evoke the viewer's own happy seaside memories. This image looks great on its own or as part of a triptych (Life Aquatique, Life Aquatique 2, Life Aquatique 3).
