FOUR CORRESPONDENCE SIZES TO CHOOSE FROM

At Minted we pride ourselves on giving our customers expansive choices when it comes to unique designs, colors, card shapes, and even card sizes. Below we have outlined the four different moving announcement card size options to choose from depending on your budget and concept.

• Classic: Mail a 5”x7” flat card that allows for customization on both the front and the back of the announcement for details regarding your new address. Each card also includes a complimentary envelope, to which you can also add design elements.
• Petite: This 4.25”x6” card is sized slightly smaller than our classic format and still enjoys all the same enhanced customization features, including envelope design.
• Grand: Our 6”x8” statement announcement is celebratory and fun. It may also be a great option when pairing your Christmas cards and your we’re moving announcements into one seasonal mailer. The enlarged size allows for more room to share holiday wishes as well as new address info. It will dominate the mantel or fridge!
• Postcard: Send a 4.25”x6” postcard that simply requires a stamp before being dropped in the mail. It is the most inexpensive size and format we offer and you will also save on the postage since postcard stamps cost less.

Minted’s hand-designed cards are all imagined by independent artists from around the world. Each artist possesses their own creative skillset and visionary influences which helps us maintain a diverse assortment of designs. Below are some design themes that may pair perfectly with the timing of your move or your unique personality:

• Funny Moving Announcements: Choose from designs that say things such as “We like to move it move it” and “Your guestroom has moved.”
• Business Moving Announcements: Want to inform your clients, customers, and business partners that your office has relocated? Select a design that is professional and beautifully details your new place of business.
• Christmas/Holiday Themed: Planning to settle into a new home in December or January? Rather than sending a more traditional holiday card, include details about your new stomping ground. Select from designs featuring Christmas trees, reindeer, wreaths, and ornaments.
• New Years Themed: If you are starting the year with new surroundings, consider amplifying that theme. Send we’ve moved cards that exclaim “New Year, New Home!” or “Making resolutions from a new location!”

WHAT DO YOU WRITE IN A MOVING ANNOUNCEMENT?

When writing about your new address, there are some key pieces of information to include. Don’t forget:

• Your name(s)
• Your new address
• The date or year you moved
• A short message like “visit us soon!” (optional).

PROPER ETIQUETTE ON HOW TO ANNOUNCE YOU ARE MOVING

First things first, verbally notify your closest friends and family that you’re moving. It may really catch them by surprise if they learn of it through your moving announcement postcards or a social media post! Having a going away party or meeting up with people face-to-face locally before you leave is also a thoughtful way to say your goodbyes. This will allow you to mingle and hug before you leave. Then, the moving announcements can go out as a mailer with your new address so people can stay in touch.
