This botanical work was inspired by the sculptural beauty of the trees in the Craggy Gardens area along the Blue Ridge Parkway. At the higher elevations of the Smoky Mountains, it is a difficult growing environment and the gnarly nature of these trees shows their struggle creating a uniquely beautiful autumnal ambiance.
