With the theme of aesthetic experimentation in mind, I wanted to push my painting into a realm I rarely venture as a landscape painter: interiors. I discovered that following beloved objects through a room creates its own sort of walking path. The cat may catch your eye, and then you see the chair, and then a set of books on the shelf. All combining to form the perfect place to spend the afternoon curled up with a good book.
