The inspiration for this still life came from cross stitch patterns and paint by number sets. In this hand painted watercolor piece, with just a few colors, and on a grid, the image of a rose against a teal blue sky starts to reveal itself to the viewer. This piece is created in a post-modern style but with traditional subject matter and a traditional method of pointillism reinvented on a larger scale, which is sometimes called 'pixellism'. The second piece in a series of five.
