Mytoi Tree 01 is part of a triptych, which presents three separate tree graphite drawings that complement each other. The drawing shows paper birches I saw at Mytoi Japanese Garden in Chappaquiddick island, the neighbor of Martha's Vineyard. I focused on controlling pressure, blending to render the trees looming out of foggy air and considering the delicacy of humble natural objects on fields of pristine, white space.
