I started exploring mixing painting with collage, loving the intermingling of color, layers, shape and shade. This process opened up my interest in collage, which I took further in other artworks of just colored collages. This artwork felt like the blossoms were bursting out of the graphic edges, in a gesture of saying "Hello, I am here!" Like life itself: we burst forth to blossom, our existence necessary and required. This piece celebrates this process that all of creation partakes in.
