Growing up, my mom insisted that each of my siblings and I take piano lessons, starting at the age of eight. For the first couple of years we hated it, and then once we packed a little proficiency under our belts, it became a pleasure. Soon, other instruments were introduced into our family band: guitar, clarinet, saxophone, synthesizer, drums, and for a short, ear-splitting tenure, the trumpet. Sometimes we would gather in the living room with our instruments, my dad even dusting off his cello, and we would play together. This print is reminiscent of family, fine music, and the joy that fills spaces and hearts when people come together to create.
