This is part of a series of inkblots influenced by brain imagery. After undergoing brain surgery in 2014, I became particularly interested in brain images from before and after my surgery. This series is focused on the juxtapositions of the emotional body/mind and clinical scientific worlds and how they create a visual conversation. "Heart Meets Body" was made with India ink and layered with gouache. The combination of these two mediums evokes a sense of strength, spontaneity, and playfulness. I love the unknown element with an inkblot.
