The Brown Pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. Seeing this prehistoric looking bird gliding (mostly over waterways) is a majestic site. This once endangered bird has often become the subject of my photography. Brown Pelicans glide above the water on the coast, over lakes and rivers in Southern Louisiana, rising and falling in a graceful shadow of the waters movement.
