Spring arrives when the delicate crocus awakens from its winter slumber and peeks out through the melting snow. The songbirds slowly begin to arrive and I am awakened in the mornings by their cheerful chirping. For me, this is the essence of spring. Combining my graphic sensibilities with my love of watercolors, I set out to create a simple, yet striking 'modern' botanical. This is the first painting in my "The Four Season II" series.
