Yosemite is one of my favorite national parks. I had the good fortune of visiting this park when the snowpack was melting and its waterfalls were flowing effusively. Yosemite's waterfalls have been captured thousands of times by photographers, and I was searching for an unusual perspective. I normally consider landscape shots as still life photos, but this print focuses on the movement of the water and the surrounding mist created by the energy of the falls. Yosemite Mist II is the second in a pair and while I think it is absolutely dynamic standing alone, both shots displayed together with Yosemite Mist I placed on the left side (as one is viewing it) and Yosemite Mist II on its right create a magnificent pair. Both photos have a modern abstract mood with a touch of vintage appeal while maintaining the underlying natural beauty of the falls and the majesty of the landscape.
