I captured this photo last Spring at one of my favorite LA surf spots, the Venice Beach Pier. From the beach it is hard to tell that the surfers like to ham it up for me for the camera but back at home when I blow up the images I see they are smiling at me. Surfers are great subjects as they love to be photographed catching a wave.
