I get inspiration from the Carolina coast where I will take in a morning run along the beach when I'm visiting. The sunrise in this painting is typical along Surfside Beach in South Carolina the colors muted before the sunshine is allowed through. Sadly, the Surfside pier was washed away by Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
