This wave was painted with a luscious riot of paint, moving with reckless momentum like the ocean itself. I have painted the Pacific Ocean in countless styles, but this was the first experiment mimicking the movement of the crashing sea. Rather than focus on the end result, the process was about movement and layering, keeping the paint thick and wet, letting the brushstrokes crash into one another.
