When this painting was completed it was so nostalgic for some reason, but I could not place the feeling or memory. Then over morning coffee it came to me. It reminded me of my mom’s flower garden when I was about 8 or 9 years old. What a wonderful memory.

As an artist, painting can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. I'm a big risk taker, experimenting with different materials to layer, stain, scrap and saturate color on large canvases. My most successful work is complex yet minimal. Some of my work achieves a sense of fluid movement with saturated color, while my newer collection is so textured it is like frosting.
