Leonie Yagdjoglou is a visual artist based in Athens, Greece. For the last twelve years she has devoted her practice to ceramic art, as it combines the two basic elements of her artistic ways of expression, design and painting. Leonie draws her inspiration from observing people during their daily routines.
“Peoplakia” is one of her favorite series. The name Peoplakia is a combination of the English word “people” and the Greek diminutive su x “—aki” which means “little, small”, but also “cute” and “lovable”. Sarcastic and humorous, they are born to tease about the lack of any meaningful communication most people have these days. Peoplakia talk in order to hear themselves talking. They chat about everything whilst always concealing what they really think.
