This piece was inspired by the charming and colorful birds-eye view of a game of dominoes. My older sister first taught me how to play when I was in college. Up until that point I did not realize it was an actual game -- all of my prior experience with dominoes had been as a kid, setting them up in rows and knocking them down. I have since taught it to several of my friends and it has become one of our game night staples. We even have a tradition of playing one final game just before the new year every year. It is my hope that the joy of the game is reflected in the bright, poppy colors and playful illustration style of this piece.
