One of a pair of lively and painterly mountainous landscapes full of deliberate but sometimes abstract paint daubs, lines and scratches representing wild flowers, rocks and grasses. The scene was inspired by a summer break in the French Alps and I have aimed to capture the ruggedness and scale of the landscape. Up close there is much to look at with exciting abstract marks, and from a distance a cool mountain scene with atmospheric colour changes brings a feeling of calm.
