The inspiration for the Vignette Collection which includes Vignette II initially came from a visit to the antique store in my neighboring town, a place I often go for inspiration. A vintage framed pressed floral piece with an oval mat caught my eye and I began experimenting to try to create a modern painted version in my studio. I wanted to create something that would be nostalgic of traditional pressed floral work through the use of the oval mat shape but modernize it with a bright and bold color palette and depth & texture through the painted floral.
